Project Safe Child, Inc. manufactures Kid Friendly ID Deluxe, easy to use identification software that allows the user to capture pictures and digital fingerprint images. Used by law enforcement agencies as well as child safety advocates, this software helps parents keep their child's information current. We have currently fingerprinted over 10,000 children with our software. Parents can also obtain a digital copy of their child's photo and fingerprints on diskette for their own safe keeping. When we decided to write a program to help parents better protect their children, we evaluated many products on the market that would produce the quality imaging and functionality that we needed. The highest priority was quality. The features that we needed were the ability to scan images and basic editing such as rotate, crop, etc. Pegasus Imaging provided a feature that really impressed us and that was the ability to overlay text on pictures. This was great and allowed us to add dates to photographs. When we evaluated Pegasus Imaging's ImagXpress V6 in 2001 it had all the features that we needed to make a quality product at a very reasonable cost. Competitor's products were also evaluated and although they had a good product the overhead and cost for our product was way too much. ImagXpress was very easy to implement, allowing us to rapidly develop our application. ImagXpress gave us the ability to scan images with TWAIN compliant devices and also edit images with rotate, crop and more. We have now upgraded to ImagXpress v7 in order to add more features and to improve the performance for the volunteers who go out and fingerprint and ID these children. Pegasus Imaging's support is top notch.  |
