| A software error in the January 15 Barcode Xpress service pack release (version 5.0.16.0 of the ActiveX and .NET controls) has been identified and corrected. It can occur during recognition of a very small number of PDF417 barcodes, and thus affects only the Professional and Professional + 2D Write Editions.
At Pegasus Imaging, we are highly committed to providing the best support in the industry. Although the issue has not yet been reported by any customer, a new service pack that corrects it is now available. Please download and install the latest build, and contact us with any questions.

ISIS Xpress Version 3 Launched by Pegasus Imaging

| Pegasus Imaging today announces the release of ISIS Xpress v3. It has been updated in Version 3 to include EMC Corporation’s most recent ISIS® PixTools v8 library. ISIS Xpress v3 allows users to take full advantage of ISIS scanners supporting multistream technology, to simultaneously output multiple images from a single scan. This feature, although scanner-dependent, allows a combination of color, grayscale and/or bitonal images to be captured at the same time. The new version also adds a “Driver and Scanner Model List” that provides a way of obtaining available scanner drivers without using the ISIS selection dialog. The ad linked to Intel’s own web pages selling Intel Integrated Performance Primitives (IPP) that are in direct competition with Pegasus Imaging’s PICTools image compression and decompression libraries. | Pegasus Imaging has just released the JPEG 2000 Part 2 implementation for 3D volumetric encoding for the PICTools MedX Software Development Kit (SDK). Software developers may compress and decompress images using JPEG 2000 Part 2 - 3D volumetric encoding as used in the DICOM standard in the medical imaging industry. This implementation supports both Lossy and Lossless modes. It supports both JPEG 2000 raw codestream format and the JPEG 2000 JPX format.

FilePrinter is a PDF printer driver offering easy PDF creation from any application running under Microsoft® Windows® including Word® and Excel®. It installs as a printer so users can simply select the Pegasus FilePrinter to create a PDF from almost any document. Users may either print from an application or quickly drag a file to the FilePrinter desktop shortcut icon to create a PDF. Users can include hyperlinks, control compression, add password protection, embed fonts, append pages, and include document information such as title and keywords.

| Pegasus Imaging today releases a new 2D barcode creation edition for its SmartScan Xpress™ Barcode v4 software development kit. Two dimensional PDF417 and DataMatrix barcodes hold more data than 1D barcodes and will benefit many licensed users of Pegasus technology.
We understand how critical workflow automation is to many of our licensed customers. The 2D write functionality potentially places our barcode technology at the beginning of the document life-cycle in addition to the existing archiving and indexing stage. Our customers asked us for 2D barcode creation and our in-house development team has delivered again.
