PEGASUS IMAGING CORPORATION RELEASES ACTIVEX/COM COMPONENT FOR WSQ FINGERPRINT COMPRESSION |
| TAMPA, August 21, 2002 - Pegasus Imaging Corporation, the leader in digital imaging technology, today released the ImagXpress WSQ Add On. ImagXpress, the comprehensive imaging toolkit, now features the ability to compress and decompress the FBI WSQ fingerprint compression format. The technology is FBI certified for accuracy and compliance with the WSQ compression standard. This is accomplished utilizing Wavelet Scalar Quantization grayscale compression to conform to a standard for exchange of fingerprint images with very little quality loss. It offers 8-bit grayscale compression and decompression, and allows users to seamlessly add WSQ to applications developed in Win32 development environments. "Pegasus Imaging has been offering its WSQ compression technology in low-level C/C++ libraries since 1998," says Jack Berlin, president of Pegasus Imaging Corporation. "We are now pleased to expand our offering to all developers in an easy to use, familiar ActiveX/COM, VCL, and soon .NET interface. We continue to solidify our position as the leader in image compression technologies." A free full-featured trial version is available for immediate download. More information on the ImagXpress WSQ Add On can be found at www.pegasusimaging.com/ixwsq.htm. |
