PEGASUS IMAGING ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF IMAGXPRESS 6

Development Toolkit offers world class, state-of-the-art scan, view, edit, and convert functionality for digital imaging


TAMPA, FL, July 23, 2001— Pegasus Imaging Corporation www.jpg.com, a leader in state-of-the-art imaging software, today introduced the newest version of its flagship product, ImagXpress 6. ImagXpress 6 continues to expand the powerful functionality of ImagXpress 5 by providing new features and adding support for additional formats. These new features complement a long list of comprehensive features such as Tiff tag handling and multiple page Tiff editing.

The ImagXpress product continues to evolve its robust functionality through the features below.

- HTTPS - Support for reading images from secure http.
- Progressive Display - Progressive display has been added for JPEG and TIFF when viewing these files from an http or ftp address.
- EPS Support - Support for viewing EPS images with an embedded TIFF or WMF image.
- Get and Set JPEG Comments - Multiple JPEG comments can be set, retrieved and saved.
- Improved Metafile Support - WMF and EMF file viewing, scrolling, and zooming as metafiles (as opposed to rasterized).
- AssignDib - A new AssignDib method has been added to allow ImagXpress to import a DIB from an external source without having to create it's own copy.
- EMF - Support for reading Windows Enhanced Metafiles.
- Expanded Image Sizes - Properties and Methods such as Crop, PicCrop. CropX, CropY, CropWidth and CropHeight have been expanded to support image sizes greater than 65535.
- Print Clip - Support for printing any rectangular area within a DIB.
- Mouse Position Reporting - Report the position of the mouse within the DIB regardless of the current zoomed, scrolled, or cropped view.
- Save Tiff Byte Order - Provides the capability to save TIFF images in Big Endian or Little Endian format (Intel or Motorola format).
- Enhanced Event Handling - Event handlers can be enabled or disabled for Key events, Mouse events, Click events, Scroll events, Notify events, Progress events, and Drag Drop events.
- LoadRotated - Efficiently load and rotate an image in 90 degree increments as well mirrored and flipped.
- Raise Exceptions - In addition to setting the ImagError property, ImagXpress can raise an exception when an error is encountered. Raising exceptions can be turned on or off.
- Optimized Painting - Improved display efficiency particularly when moving objects over a control.
