PEGASUS IMAGING WINS CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH CITRIX

TAMPA, FL, SEPTEMBER 11, 2007 – Pegasus® Imaging Corporation, the leading provider of digital image compression technology, today announced Citrix Systems, Inc. has renewed a contract licensing several PICTools™ image compression and decompression libraries for use within the Citrix® Presentation Server product line, and has licensed to expand the use of Pegasus technology into other Citrix product lines. The Pegasus / Citrix relationship has also included custom engineering projects for a number of different implementations from Pegasus, including kernel drivers.

Pegasus Imaging was chosen to supply Citrix with image compression technology because of its vast amount of low-level image compression experience, support, and the quality of the libraries provided. Pegasus is uniquely positioned to supply several standards-based compression technologies that are optimized for speed and higher compression ratios, including low-level access to that code to meet Citrix goals. Pegasus Imaging’s JPEG and ePIC image compression and decompression libraries will continue to be used within the Citrix Presentation Server product line on both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. Citrix has also expanded the use of Pegasus technology to include Microsoft’s new HD Photo format.

"Pegasus offers Citrix a unique blend of imaging technology and expertise that adds value to our products. The speed at which we can display images is critical to our customers’ satisfaction,” says Bill Burley, vice president product management at Citrix. “Over the years, Pegasus has proven they will provide us with the best compression code available, and for that reason we are happy to expand our relationship going forward."

PICTools SDKs contain low-level C libraries offering advanced image compression, decompression, and editing. Maximum code speed has been achieved through algorithm and machine code optimizations. PICTools technologies are supported across multiple environments, including 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Windows, 32-bit and 64-bit Linux, 32-bit Sun Solaris, IBM AIX, Mac OS X, BeOS, and QNX. Pegasus Imaging optimizes PICTools technology for performance in specific environments through the use of assembly programming and processor-specific optimizations.

“Pegasus has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Citrix. This expanded license of the Pegasus technology not only broadens our relationship but will continue to provide Citrix with the world’s best compression code,” says Russ Puskaric, vice president of sales at Pegasus Imaging. “Many of the world’s largest organizations enjoy working with Pegasus for our imaging expertise and world class support. We were selected because Citrix felt Pegasus represented the best value for their image compression requirements.”
