Alchemy Mindworks offers a suite of image creation, processing and management tools, including Graphic Workshop Professional, to process and convert virtually all popular raster image graphics; GIF Construction Set Professional, the web's most popular animator; Presentation Wizard, to create clickable, distributable multimedia Windows documents; Screen Saver Construction Set to build multimedia Windows screen savers and e-Paint, a short-learning-curve paint application. All of these applications include JPEG file support - Pegasus Imaging JPEG support. With the growing popularity of JPEG, our applications needed a reliable -- and above all fast -- JPEG import facility which could handle a wide variety of non-standard JPG file formats and not make unreasonable demands on memory and other system resources. The growing popularity of high-resolution digital cameras -- almost all of which export their graphics as JPG files by default -- has made the read times for JPG files an immediate concern. The available free JPG libraries have proven to be worth what they cost in this regard - Pegasus Imaging's libraries don't make our users wait. Easy to implement, cost-effective and bulletproof, building the Pegasus JPEG functionality into our applications has proven to be a short path to an improved user experience and more competitive products. |
